The concept for Bob’s began over beers with friends in 2004. As we discussed foods, the conversation drifted toward what each person’s favorite sandwich would be. Later, the idea of putting a sandwich shop in an old gas station surfaced. Shortly thereafter, the name, Bob’s Big Gas Subs was born (the "and Pub" came later)!

We wanted this concept to be simple: a neighborhood shop where people could get fantastic food at a reasonable  price. In other words: we wanted to create a great value for Winston-Salem! Further, we wanted to showcase all  that North Carolina has to offer with meats, produce, beer and wine.
